Sheridan Rogers is a journalist, author, broadcaster and food stylist, with extensive experience in the world of food, travel and the media. As a journalist, she has worked on several national newspapers, including The Australian, The Sunday Telegraph, and The Australian Financial Review and written regular food columns for Mode Magazine, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, and The Sun-Herald. A skilled cook in her own right, she has also written four books, The Cook's Garden (HarperCollins), Entertaining At Home (Lansdowne Press), Sheridan Rogers' Food Year (August) and a recent booklet entitled Adventures in Tea. As a broadcaster she has contributed to a number of leading Sydney radio programs and is currently a regular guest on Bob Rogers' programme on Radio 2CH. |
She has also conducted interviews around the world for Alan Saunders' Food Program on ABC Radio National. As a food stylist and presenter she has worked on many TV commercials over a 20 year period. As a teacher, she has conducted cookery classes for adults and children from her home in North Sydney over the past four years. Sheridan's contribution to food writing was acknowledged when she received the Award for Gastronomic Writing in 1992; the Best Show Story Award for the 1995 Royal Easter Show Media Awards and the Best Hardcover Food-Related Book for the 1995 Food Media Club Awards. She was also Runner Up for Best Feature Article in those awards, and a Finalist in the World Food Media Awards in the Best Food/Wine section in a Newspaper or Magazine.
