About Sheridan

Sheridan Rogers is an award-winning food and travel writer, broadcaster and food stylist.

A graduate of Leith’s School of Food & Wine, London, Sheridan has over 30 years’ industry experience and is the author of six cookery books: Mini Chef – Cooking with Kids (New Holland 2010), The Cook’s Garden (New Holland 2011), Seasonal Entertaining (HarperCollins), Entertaining At Home (Lansdowne Press), Sheridan Rogers’ Food Year (Simon & Schuster) and Australia’s Guide to Home Made Sweets (CSR).

As a teacher, she has conducted cookery classes for adults and children from her home in North Sydney for the past 8 years, and as a food stylist and presenter she has worked on many TV and magazine commercials.

As a journalist, she has worked on several leading newspapers, including The Australian, The Sunday Telegraph, The Sun-Herald and The Australian Financial Review and written regular weekly food columns for Good Weekend and The Sun-Herald (Sunday Life); monthly articles for Mode magazine; as well as various articles for  The Sydney Morning Herald (Good Living), The Sunday Herald Sun and The Age. She has also contributed articles to Australian Gourmet Traveller, Australian Good Taste, Wish, Outback, Delicious, Vacations, Where, G magazine and The Australian Way(Qantas in-flight magazine) .

As a broadcaster she has contributed to a number of leading Sydney radio programs on 2UE and 2GB, and is currently a regular guest on Bob Rogers’ program on Radio 2CH. She has also conducted interviews around the world for Alan Saunders’ Food Program on ABC Radio National.

Sheridan has won a number of awards for her food writing including the ‘Award for Gastronomic Writing’, ‘Best Show Story Award for the Royal Easter Show Media Awards’ and the ‘Best Hardcover Book for the Food Media Club Awards’. She was also runner up for ‘Best Feature Article’ in those awards, and a Finalist in the ‘World Food Media Awards Best Food/Wine section in a Newspaper or Magazine’.

Sheridan is included in Who’s Who of Australian Women and in the current edition of  Margaret Gee’s Australian Celebrity Contact Book and Online Directory.
